Syed Saad Ali (born 5 October 1993) is a Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team in 2019 before retiring in 2023 to join Major League Cricket. Domestic career He made his Twenty20 debut for Islamabad in the 2017–18 National T20 Cup on 12 November 2017. In November 2017, he was selected to play for the Quetta Gladiators in 2018 Pakistan Super League players draft. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2017–18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with a total of 957 runs in ten matches, more than 200 runs ahead of the next leading batsman in the tournament. He was also the leading run-scorer for Karachi Whites in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup, with 243 runs in five matches. He was also the leading run-scorer for Peshawar in the 2018–19 National T20 Cup, with 183 runs in four matches. In March 2019, he was named in Punjab's squad for the 2019 Pakistan Cup. 2018 Pakistan Super League Players Draft
The 2018 Pakistan Super League player draft was the player draft for third season of the Pakistan Super League, held on 12 November 2017 in Lahore. Each franchise was allowed to pick 16 players from total 501 players; including Pakistani and foreign cricketers who took part in the draft. They divided into five different categories; Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver and Emerging and Supplementary. The Pakistan cricket team visited Ireland in May 2018 to play a Test match against the Ireland cricket team. It was the first Test match played by the Ireland men's team since they were awarded Test status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in June 2017. 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was a first-class domestic cricket competition that took place in Pakistan from 14 September to 31 December 2019. Habib Bank Limited were the defending champions. However, after the new domestic structure was announced by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), six newly formed regional teams played in the tournament. During the opening round of fixtures, a concussion substitute was used for the first time in a domestic cricket match in Pakistan. 2019 Pakistan Cup
The 2019 Pakistan Cup was the fourth edition of the Pakistan Cup, a List A cricket competition which was contested between five teams. It was held from 2 to 12 April 2019, with all the matches played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated that the top performers in the tournament would be considered for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. Federal Areas were the defending champions, but they lost their first three matches of the tournament, therefore eliminating them from competition. On 9 April 2019, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Sindh by nine runs to advance to the final of the tournament. The result meant that Baluchistan also progressed to the final, regardless of the outcome of their last match against Federal Areas. 2018–19 National T20 Cup
The 2018–19 National T20 Cup was a Twenty20 domestic cricket competition that was played in Pakistan. It was the fifteenth season of the National T20 Cup in Pakistan, and was held from 10 to 25 December 2018 in Multan. Eight teams took part, with the top four progressing to the semi-finals. Lahore Blues were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage, Rawalpindi, Karachi Whites, Lahore Whites and Islamabad had all progressed to the semi-finals.
