The Safford Unified School District is the school district that serves the City of Safford, Arizona and some minor outlying areas. Headquarters The SUSD Headquarters (District office) is located adjacent to the Safford Middle School campus. It has one early learning center, one 2-8 school, one intermediate school, 12 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 3 high schools, with a certified teaching staff of 1,200 and a student body of 17,400. History Sunnyside School District was established in 1921. Around 1927, Sunny Side School (now Sunnyside), a two-story brick building was constructed on the southwest corner of Valencia Road and Nogales Highway.
