A special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC; ), also known as a blank check company or a blind-pool stock offering, is a shell corporation listed on a stock exchange with the purpose of acquiring (or merging with) a private company, thus taking the private company public through a procedure which requires less regulatory filings and has less safeguards for investors than the initial public offering (IPO) process. According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), SPACs are created specifically to pool funds to finance a future merger or acquisition opportunity within a set timeframe; these opportunities usually have yet to be identified while raising funds. In the U.S., SPACs are registered with the SEC and considered publicly traded companies. The general public may buy their shares on stock exchanges before any merger or acquisition takes place. Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is a large amphitheatre located in Saratoga Springs, New York, on the grounds of Saratoga Spa State Park. It presents summer performances of classical music, jazz, pop and rock, country, comedy, and dance. It opened on July 9, 1966, with a presentation of George Balanchine's ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' by the New York City Ballet. The Center is the official summer home of the New York City Ballet, which is in residence for one week in July, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, which is in residence for three weeks in August. The soil-plant-atmosphere continuum (SPAC) is the pathway for water moving from soil through plants to the atmosphere. Henry Crown Sports And Aquatics Center
Lakefront Athletics and Recreation Complex is a sports and recreation complex on the main campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. It contains both facilities for general student body fitness and recreation, as well as facilities dedicated to Northwestern Wildcats sports programs (the university's teams in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I). Wildcats facilities include competition and practice venues, training and team meeting facilities, offices, locker rooms, dinning facilities, and an academic support services center. Manitoba Theatre for Young People (MTYP) is a theatre for children and young adults in The Forks area of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. , MTYP's annual attendance regularly exceeds 100,000. Spaç Prison
The Spaç Prison () was a political prison in Communist Albania at the village of Spaç. The former prison is listed as a second-category national monument. There were plans to turn the rapidly deteriorating site into a museum, but as of February 2013, no progress had been made at the location. In 1973, a number of prisoners staged a rebellion where the non-communist flag was raised. In 1984, a similar rebellion took place at the prison of Qafë Bar. In 2015, the prison was listed by the New York–based organisation World Monument Fund as one of the 50 most endangered monuments worldwide.
