SC Popești-Leordeni
Sport Club Popești-Leordeni, commonly known as SC Popești-Leordeni, or simply as Popești-Leordeni, is a Romanian football club based in Popești-Leordeni, Ilfov County. Founded in 2011 as ''CS Popești-Leordeni'' the club situated near Bucharest merged in 2013 with the newly promoted club in the Liga III ''Gloria Cornești'', being enrolled directly in the third tier, under the name of ''Gloria Popești-Leordeni''. History Sport Club Popești-Leordeni was founded in 2011 under the name of ''CS Popești-Leordeni'', in order to continue the football tradition in town after the dissolution of more known Inter Gaz București and of Viscofil Popești-Leordeni. After a first year in which the team succeeded to promote from Liga V to Liga IV, followed two conecutve seasons in the fourth tier, but ''the white and reds'' missed the Liga III promotion play-off. The 2012–13 Liga IV was the 71st season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. 2012–13 Liga III
The 2012–13 Liga III season is the 57th season of the Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. Day one was played on August 31, 2012 and the last round was played on May 30, 2013. The first team in each series will promote at the end of the season to the Liga II, and the teams that finish 10-16 will relegate to the Liga IV. From the teams that finish 9th, another three are relegated, but separate standings are computed, only results against teams that finished 1-8 are taken into consideration. This season was close to a disaster, only 78 teams registered, although 96 spots were available (6x16), thus 18 spots remained unoccupied. From the 78, 5 withdrew from the championship during the first half, CSO Plopeni, Sevișul Șelimbăr, Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea, FCM Huși and FC Cisnădie, thus 73 remained in the tables. 2013–14 Liga III
The 2013–14 Liga III season is the 58th season of the Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 30 August. There is a new system, with six series of 12 teams that will play a regular season, followed by a play-off and play-out for each series. The regular season is a round-robin tournament. At the end of the regular season, the first six teams from each series will play a Promotion play-off and the winners will qualify to Liga II. The last six teams from each series will play a Relegation play-out. The last three teams from each series, at the end of the play-out, will relegate to Liga IV. The 2014–15 Liga III season is the 59th season of the Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 30 August. There is a new system, with five series of 13/14 teams that will play a regular season as a round-robin tournament. At the end of the regular season, the first team from each series will be promoted to Liga II. The last two teams from the series with 14 teams and the last one from the series with 13 teams will relegate to Liga IV. From the 12th placed teams, another three are relegated. To determine these teams, separate standings are computed, using only the games played against clubs ranked 1st through 11th. 2019–20 Liga III
The 2019–20 Liga III was the 64th season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season was initially scheduled to begin on 24 August 2019 and to end on 30 May 2020. The season was interrupted on 9 March 2020, after 16 rounds, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania, COVID-19 pandemic. After two months of inactivity, on 11 May 2020, the Romanian Football Federation announced that the season was discontinued and the best ranked teams from each series (after 16 rounds) were promoted to Liga II, only if the distance between the leader and the runner-up was bigger than 3 points. Otherwise promotion play-offs will be played between the best two teams of the series. 2024–25 Cupa României
The 2024–25 Cupa României was the 87th season of the annual Romanian Association football, football cup competition. It is sponsored by Betano and known as the Cupa României Betano for sponsorship purposes. The winner will qualify for the first qualifying round of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League, 2025–26 edition of the UEFA Europa League.
