S.D. Panamá Oeste
Sociedad Deportiva Panamá Oeste is a Panamanian football team playing at the Liga Prom. It is based in Capira. Until 2011, the team was known as ''Chorrillito Fútbol Club de Arraiján''. History Chorrillito F.C. In 2007 Chorrillito promoted to the Liga Nacional de Ascenso after defeating Five Star 4–2 in the Copa Rommel Fernández final. In its first season in the Liga Nacional de Ascenso in 2008, Chorrillito managed to reach both the Apertura and Clausura finals but lost in both cases against Orión and Río Abajo respectively. S.D. Panamá Oeste For the Clausura championship of the 2010-11 Liga Nacional de Ascenso season Chorrillito changed its name to ''Sociedad Deportiva Panamá Oeste''. In that season they reached the quarterfinal stage of the championship after finishing 3rd in their group (Group B), however they were defeated by SUNTRACS on a 3–0 aggregate score. Estadio Agustín Sánchez
Estadio Agustín ''Muquita'' Sánchez is a football stadium in Panamá Oeste Province, Panama which hosts Liga Panameña de Fútbol teams San Francisco and Independiente, as well as other teams and local competitions from the La Chorrera district. Formerly the stadium had slightly smaller dimensions and natural turf, but it was still used for ANAPROF games. In 2008, a joint effort from the Panamanian government and the national sport institute (INDE) spent $1,997,192 in installing artificial turf to the field, increase its dimensions to 105×68 m, seating capacity and also adding a better lighting system. The ''Muquita'' is certified a 1 to 2 star FIFA stadium rating. The first official game in the renewed stadium was played on Friday March 27, 2009 when San Francisco defeated 2–1 Atlético Veragüense for the 2009 Liga Panameña de Fútbol championship. Five Star (also styled as 5 Star) were a British pop group, formed in 1983 and comprising siblings Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris, and Delroy Pearson. SUNTRACS (National Union of Workers of Construction and Similar Industries; ) is one of the leading trade union forces in Panama, with 40,000 members and a Militant (word), militant style of syndicalism, class war unionism. Primera A 2008
The Primera A (Panama), Primera A 2008 season (officially "Torneo Primera A 2008") started on February 23, 2008. The Apertura champions was Asociación Deportiva Orión, Orión and the Clausura champion was Río Abajo F.C. On November 15, 2008 a grand final was played and Río Abajo were crowned champions after defeating 2–1 Asociación Deportiva Orión, Orión. Copa Rommel Fernández
The Copa Rommel Fernández is the third level of Panama's national club championship. It was founded in 1996 and it is a seasonal tournament that lasts 2 months in which the champion is promoted to Liga Nacional de Ascenso. The tournament is named after Panamanian football legend Rommel Fernández. The tournament is presided by Lucas Fernández and managed by Panamanian Football Federation. Since the championship is seasonal only, at the end of each competition each of the teams (except the champions) are relegated to their respective district leagues where they compete to earn a spot for the following season.
