Sporting Clube de Braga (), commonly known as Sporting de Braga or just Braga, is a Portuguese sports club from the city of Braga. Best known for the men's professional football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football at the Estádio Municipal de Braga, it also has departments for athletics, badminton, basketball, billiards, boccia, boxing, esports, futsal, karate, kickboxing, muay thai, swimming, taekwondo and volleyball. Founded on 19 January 1921, Braga are nicknamed, ''Braguistas'', and ''Os Arsenalistas'' (The Arsenalists) for the shirt colour that resembles English club Arsenal. The Estádio Municipal de Braga (') is an All-seater stadium, all-seater Association football, football stadium located in Braga, Portugal, and the current home of S.C. Braga, Sporting Clube de Braga. It has a capacity of 30,286 spectators, making it the List of football stadiums in Portugal, seventh largest football stadium in Portugal. The stadium was designed by Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura who was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize in part for this design. 2015–16 Taça De Portugal
The 2015–16 Taça de Portugal was the 76th season of the Taça de Portugal, the premier knockout competition in Portuguese football. As of this season, it became also known as Taça de Portugal Placard due to sponsorship by sports betting game Placard. Minho Derby
The rivalry between SC Braga and Vitória SC is a clash that involves the two most representative clubs in the Minho region. It is usually called the Minho Derby. More than a rivalry between two sports clubs, it is a rivalry between two historic and neighboring cities, which dates back before the foundation of the nationality, in a dispute between the power of the Archbishops of Braga and the Counts of the County of Portugal. From then until today, there have been several demonstrations of rivalry between the two sides, thus justifying the fact that there is no railway line between the two cities (but rather two isolated branches that connect each city to Porto) or the controversy surrounding the creation of the University of Minho.
