Ruhollah Khaleghi
Ruhollâh Xâleqi ( fa, , born 1906 in Kerman, Iran – 12 November 1965 in Salzburg, Austria), also spelled as ''Khaleqi'', was a prominent Iranian musician, composer, conductor and author. He was the father of the first Persian women conductor Golnuš Xâleqi. Education Ruhollâh Khâleghi was born in Mahan, a small town near Kerman, in a musically minded family. He first became acquainted with the tar, but later started to learn to play the violin. As soon as Ali-Naqi Vaziri established his School of Music, Khâleghi left school and joined Vaziri's school, where he studied for eight years. Soon he became his master's assistant and was placed in charge of teaching music theory. He later continued his education and obtained a BA degree in Persian Language and Literature from the University of Tehran. Javād Ma'roufi ( fa, جواد معروفی ), (1912 in Tehran – December 7, 1993, in Tehran) was an Iranian composer and pianist. Biography Javād Ma'roufi was born in Tehran to the musician father Musa Maroufi, Musā Ma'roufi and mother Ozra Maroufi, Ozrā Ma'roufi (or ''Ezra'' Ma'roufi) who both were distinguished pupils of Darvish Khan, a renowned music master of the time in Iran. Darband, Tehran
Darband ( fa, دربند, ), formerly a village close to Tajrish, Shemiran, is a neighborhood inside Tehran's metropolitan limits. It is the beginning of a popular hiking trail into Mount Tochal, which towers over Tehran. A chairlift is also available for those not interested in hiking. The Persian term ''darband'' translates to "door of the mountain" (''band'', a variation of ''vand'' and ''fand'', meaning "mountain"). The initial start of the trail at Darband is about 250 metres long and is dotted with a number of small cafes and restaurants. These are quite popular and are busy in the evenings, as locals and tourists alike visit the many hooka lounges along the trail. Persian traditional music or Iranian traditional music, also known as Persian classical music or Iranian classical music, refers to the classical music of Iran (also known as ''Persia''). It consists of characteristics developed through the country's classical, medieval, and contemporary eras. It also influenced areas and regions that are considered part of Greater Iran.
