Roy Takumi
Roy M. Takumi (born October 13, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives since January 16, 2013 representing District 35. Takumi consecutively served from January 1993 until 2013 in the District 36 seat. From 2002-2017, Takumi chaired the House Committee on Education. Education Takumi earned his BA in education from Long Island University and his MA in public administration from the University of Hawaii. The Hawaii State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Hawaii. The state legislature is a bicameral body consisting of a lower house, the Hawaii State House of Representatives, with 51 representatives, and an upper house, the 25-member Hawaii State Senate. The Republican Party, also referred to as the GOP ("Grand Old Party"), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States.
