Ross Shafer
Ross Alan Shafer (born December 10, 1954) is an American comedian, network television host, and motivational and leadership speaker/consultant. He has authored nine business books, won a stand-up comedy competition, and earned six Emmys as a network talk and game show host. Biography Born and raised in McMinnville, Oregon, Shafer graduated from Federal Way High School in Federal Way, Washington. As a high school All-Conference football player, he received a scholarship to play linebacker for the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, where he earned a business marketing degree. Shafer said of his early life, "I had trouble finding anything that I was passionate about, or that made me happy." He then opened a "combination pet and stereo store". His first foray into acting came in the form of a community play; afterward, he tried out for a stand-up comedy competition. McMinnville is the county seat of and largest city in Yamhill County, Oregon, United States. The city is named after McMinnville, Tennessee. Michael Burger (born June 10, 1957) is an American actor, comedian, game show host and television presenter. Game shows Burger was hired by Reg Grundy Productions to host a pilot for a show called ''Matchmates'' in 1985. The show, which was taped at NBC's Burbank Studios and intended to air on the network's daytime schedule, did not sell. Approximately four years later, in March 1989, Burger was picked to host '' Straight to the Heart'', an adult-themed dating game show that ran in syndication with co-host (and soap opera actress) Barbara Lee Alexander (now Barbara Niven) until September 1989. Gene Rayburn (born Eugene Peter Jeljenic; December 22, 1917 – November 29, 1999) was an American radio and television personality. He is best known as the host of various editions of the American television game show '' Match Game'' for over two decades. Early life Rayburn was born in Christopher, Illinois, the younger of two children of Croatian immigrants Mary A. Hikec (August 14, 1897 – April 29, 1985) and Peter Pero Jeljenić (January 17, 1887 – December 26, 1918). In an episode of Match Game ‘74, Gene speaks Serbo-Croatian with a contestant.
