Robert Priseman
Robert Priseman (born in Spondon, Derbyshire in 1965) is a British artist, collector, writer, curator and publisher who lives and works in Essex, England. Over 200 works of art by Priseman are held in art museum collections around the world including the Victoria and Albert Museum, V&A, Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Musée de Louvain la Neuve, The Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, The Allen Memorial Art Museum, The Mead Art Museum, Honolulu Museum of Art and The National Galleries of Scotland. Priseman read Aesthetics and Art Theory at the University of Essex under art theorist Professor Michael Podro and began his working life as a book designer for Longman publishers (1989-1992). Spondon
Spondon is a ward of the city of Derby. Originally a small village, Spondon dates back to the Domesday Book and it became heavily industrialised in the 19th and early 20th centuries, with companies such as British Celanese. History The name Spondon is Anglo-Saxon and describes a gravelly hill. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.''Domesday Book: A Complete Translation''. Basil Hume
George Basil Hume OSB OM (2 March 1923 – 17 June 1999) was an English Catholic bishop. He was a monk and priest of the English Benedictine monastery of Ampleforth Abbey and its abbot for 13 years until his appointment as Archbishop of Westminster in 1976. His elevation to cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church followed during the same year. From 1979, Hume served also as president of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. He held these appointments until his death from cancer in 1999. His final resting place is at Westminster Cathedral in the Chapel of St Gregory and St Augustine. During his lifetime, Hume received wide respect from the general public which went beyond the Catholic community. Susan Gunn
Susan Gunn is a British artist. She was born in present-day Greater Manchester, England in 1965, and studied at Norwich University of the Arts where she was awarded a First Class BA Honours in Fine Art Painting in 2004. In 2006 she was awarded the inaugural Sovereign European Art Prize. In 2014 she was commissioned to create a twenty-metre painting for the £11.6 million low carbon building project 'The Enterprise Centre' at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. She is a member of Contemporary British Painting. Gunn's artworks are made using traditional binders imbued with beeswax and linseed, natural earth pigments and layers of traditionally made gesso. The surface undergoes a natural process beyond the control of the artist and renders each painting unique. Peter Blake (artist)
Sir Peter Thomas Blake (born 25 June 1932) is an English pop artist. He co-created the sleeve design for the Beatles' album ''Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band''. His other works include the covers for two of The Who's albums, the cover of the Band Aid (band), Band Aid single "Do They Know It's Christmas?", and the Live Aid concert poster. Blake also designed the 2012 Brit Award statuette. Blake is a prominent figure in the pop art movement. Central to his paintings are his interest in images from popular culture which have infused his collages. Mary Webb (artist)
Mary Webb (born 1939) is a British abstract artist. Biography Webb was born in London in 1939. She studied Fine Art at Newcastle University under British artists Richard Hamilton and Victor Pasmore from 1958 to 1963. She went on to study at the Chelsea College of Arts, London and taught painting at the Norwich School of Art and Harrogate School of Art. Webb met Sonia Delaunay in Paris during the 1960s and cites her as an influence. Webb's paintings and prints are consistently square in shape and exist as an arrangement of vivid squares and rectangles. Her work is held by several public art collections, including the Arts Council Collection, Sainsbury Centre (UEA), Kettle's Yard, and The Sonia Delaunay Collection (Paris). Matthew Krishanu
Matthew Krishanu was born in Bradford, England in 1980. He graduated from The University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and English Literature in 2001 and completed a master's degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, University College of the Arts London in 2009. Tracey Karima Emin, CBE, RA (; born 3 July 1963) is a British artist known for her autobiographical and confessional artwork. The Priseman Seabrook Collection is a British-based private collection founded by the artist Robert Priseman and his wife Ally Seabrook. It is composed of three distinct categories: 21st Century British Painting, 20th and 21st Century British Works on Paper and Contemporary Chinese Works on Paper, and is a collection partner of Art UK. Contemporary British Painting is an artists' collective of over 60 members, founded in 2013 by Robert Priseman with the assistance of Simon Carter.
