Riverside, Tasmania
Riverside is a rural and urban locality in the local government areas of Meander Valley and West Tamar in the Launceston region of Tasmania. The locality is about south-east of the town of Beaconsfield. The 2016 census has a population of 6472 for the state suburb of Riverside. It is a residential suburb 5 kilometres (2.5 mi) north-west of the central business district of Launceston, Tasmania's second largest city. The West Tamar Highway runs through the suburb, adjoining Riverside to the West Tamar, which includes small towns: Beaconsfield, and Beauty Point. Riverside is part of the West Tamar Council local government area. The suburb is now Launceston's largest by population, narrowly ahead of Kings Meadows. Riverside (Norwich)
Riverside is an area in the city of Norwich in the English county of Norfolk along the east bank of the River Wensum. Very close to the Central Business District, it lies between the river and the Great Eastern Main Line, with Norwich station at the northern end and Norwich City's Carrow Road stadium at the southern end. The area was historically an industrial area with the river being Norwich's link to the coast. Companies such as engineering firm Boulton & Paul developed on the site. The engineering works closed in the late 1980s leaving the site largely derelict. For much of the 1990s it was mainly used as a park and ride car park for Norwich. Barking Riverside is a mixed-use development in the area of Barking, east London, England, within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is being built on land formerly occupied by Barking Power Station, adjacent to the River Thames, and is 10.5 miles (16.9km) east of Charing Cross. The 440 acre brownfield site has planning permission for 10,800 homes. As planning restrictions prevented more than 1,200 homes without adequate transport links, the London Overground Gospel Oak to Barking line has been extended to Barking Riverside to allow the development to be completed as planned and the new station opened on 18 July 2022. The Riverside Stadium is a football stadium in Middlesbrough, England, which has been the home of Middlesbrough since it opened in 1995. Its current capacity is 34,742, all seated, although there is provisional planning permission in place to expand that to 42,000 if required. History The stadium was built to replace Ayresome Park after the Taylor Report, which required all top division football stadiums to be all-seater. After the report was delivered in January 1990, Middlesbrough needed an all-seater stadium by August 1994, and were unable to expand Ayresome Park outwards owing to its location in a residential area, and expanding the stadium upwards would have limited the club to a capacity of around 20,000 seats – the club wanted a considerably larger capacity.
