Ringkjøbing County
Ringkjøbing Amt (English, ''Ringkjøbing County'') is a former county ( Danish: ''amt'') on the Jutland peninsula in western Denmark. It had the lowest population density of all the Danish counties. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Midtjylland (i.e. ''Region Central Jutland''). ''Note of terminology: A modern Danish spelling of the name would be Ringkøbing Amt, but the county officially used an older, traditional spelling, as opposed to the municipality of Ringkøbing Ringkøbing (older spelling ''Ringkjøbing'') is a town in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality in Region Midtjylland on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. Brande Municipality
Until 1 January 2007, Brande municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Ringkøbing on the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 188 km2, and had a total population of 8,822 (2005). Its last mayor was Preben Christensen. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Brande. The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a ("Municipality Reform") that Blåhøj and Brande parishes. Ulfborg-Vemb Municipality
Ulfborg-Vemb was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Ringkjøbing County on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. By January 1, 2007, Ulfborg-Vemb municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with existing Holstebro and Vinderup municipalities to form the new Holstebro municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 790 km2 and a total population of 56,204. Trehøje Municipality
Trehøje was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Ringkjøbing County on the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. Thyholm Municipality
Until January 1, 2007 Thyholm was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Ringkjøbing County on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy, a part of the Jutland peninsula in northwest Denmark. The municipality included the island of Jegindø, and it covered an area of 76 km2. It had a total population of 3,577 (2005). Its last mayor was Peter Gade, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hvidbjerg.
