Ricky Muir
Ricky Lee Muir (born 25 December 1980) is an Australian politician who served as a Senator for Victoria from 2014 to 2016. Muir was elected to the Senate at the 2013 federal election, standing for the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party (AMEP). His election from a primary vote of just 0.51%, along with several similar occurrences, contributed to the abolition of group voting tickets in 2016. In October 2013, Muir announced that he would form a voting bloc in the Senate with the Palmer United Party's members. His term formally began on 1 July 2014. He failed to win re-election at the 2016 election, following a double dissolution which cut short his term in office. He joined the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party in 2017, standing unsuccessfully in the seat of Morwell at the 2018 Victorian state election. The United Australia Party (UAP), formerly known as Clive Palmer's United Australia Party and the Palmer United Party (PUP), is a currently deregistered Australian political party formed by mining magnate Clive Palmer in April 2013. The party was deregistered by the Australian Electoral Commission in 2017, revived and re-registered in 2018, and voluntarily deregistered in 2022. The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFF) is an Australian political party. It primarily advocates for increased funding and services for rural and regional Australia, protecting the right to farm, enhancing commercial and recreational fishing, tougher sentencing for illegal firearm trade and usage, and relaxing gun control for law abiding citizens. The party was formed in 1992, and was known simply as the Shooters Party. It initially operated only in New South Wales, but has since expanded into other states. Australian Fishing And Lifestyle Party
The Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party (AFLP) was a minor Australian political party, formed in 2006 from the Queensland branch of the Fishing Party and federally registered in 2007. It opposes any bans on recreational fishing, the use of four-wheel drives, horse riding, trail bikes, camping and kayaking, and generally opposes conservation measures which it sees as threatening to recreation. The party's website indicates particular opposition to the Greens. It contested the Senate in the 2007 election in Queensland and South Australia, and on a joint ticket with the Shooters Party in New South Wales. Mutual Party
The Mutual Party (previously the Bank Reform Party) is a de-registered minor political party in Australia. The party has been involved in Glenn Druery's Minor Party Alliance. The party's lead candidate for the Senate in Western Australia at the 2014 special election was Anthony Fels, who has been a Liberal (and later independent) member of the Western Australian Legislative Council, and an independent and Katter's Australian Party Senate candidate at the 2010 and 2013 federal elections, respectively. In March 2015, the Australian Progressive Party (not to be confused with the similarly named Australian Progressives) announced that it had absorbed the Mutual Party after they agreed to join forces. The 2019 Australian federal election was held on Saturday 18 May 2019 to elect members of the 46th Parliament of Australia. The election had been called following the dissolution of the 45th Parliament as elected at the 2016 double dissolution federal election.
