Rick Wade is a South Carolina businessman and politician. Personal life and education Wade holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of South Carolina, as well as an MPA from Harvard University. Career Wade worked as an analyst for the South Carolina House Ways and Means Committee, as well as for the University of South Carolina. Wade served as the chief of staff of Lieutenant Governor Nick Theodore. Wade then served in the administration of Governor Jim Hodges as director of the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services. The South Carolina Department of Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) is a state agency in the state of South Carolina in the US. The agency was formed in 1957 as the South Carolina Alcoholic Rehabilitation Center when the state General Assembly passed Act 309. Later, the agency's mission was broadened to include other substances. The department contracts with the state’s county alcohol and drug abuse authorities to provide the majority of direct prevention, treatment and recovery services. DAODAS is composed of five divisions: Prevention and Intervention Services; Treatment and Recovery Services; Technology, Research and Evaluation; Legal and Compliance; and Finance and Operations. Joyce Dickerson (born June 14, 1945) is an American author and politician from the U.S. state of South Carolina. She served three terms as a Richland County Councilwoman, including service as Chair, before a defeat in the 2020 General Election to Derrek Pugh. Early life and career Dickerson originally from Savannah, Georgia, moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 1975 after her husband retired from the United States Air Force. After moving to South Carolina, she attended Benedict College, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration, and Midlands Technical College, graduating with an Associate's degree in Psychology. The 2014 United States Senate special election in South Carolina took place on November 4, 2014, concurrently with the regular election for the other South Carolina Senate seat. The special-election Senate seat was formerly held by Republican Jim DeMint, who resigned on January 1, 2013, to become president of the Heritage Foundation. GreenTech Automotive (GTA) was a U.S.-based automotive manufacturer dedicated to developing and producing 100% electric vehicles. It was a subsidiary of WM Industries Corp. History GTA was founded in 2009 by Charles Wang. In May 2010, GTA acquired Hong Kong based EuAuto Technology and its Mycar vehicle, and relocated the company's operations and manufacturing to the United States.
