Richard Cluet
Richard Cluet was a priest in England during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Cluet was born in Somerset and educated at Oriel College, Oxford. He was the Rector of St Aldate's Church in Oxford and St Anne and St Agnes in the City of London. Oriel College, Oxford
Oriel College () is a constituent college of the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Located in Oriel Square, the college has the distinction of being the oldest royal foundation in Oxford (a title formerly claimed by University College, whose claim of being founded by King Alfred is no longer promoted). A rector is, in an ecclesiastical sense, a cleric who functions as an administrative leader in some Christian denominations. St Aldate's Church
St Aldate's is a Church of England parish church in the centre of Oxford, in the Deanery and Diocese of Oxford. The church is on the street named St Aldate's, opposite Christ Church college and next door to Pembroke College. The church has a large congregation and has a staff team of about 30 which includes clergy, pastoral and administrative staff. The offices of the Rector and other members of staff are at 40 Pembroke Street. History The site has been used for Christian worship dating back to the Saxon era. It may have been one of three churches within the monastic precinct of Saint Frideswide.
