Reynaert
Reynaert (born Joseph Reynaerts; 24 July 1955 – 5 November 2020) was a Belgian singer-songwriter, best known for his participation in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Reynaert was born in Seraing, and started busking at the age of 18. In 1978 he won the annual music competition in the town of Spa with the song "Cerf-volant" ("Kite"), which was released as a single. Another single, "Pas assez" ("Not Enough"), followed in 1982 and he released his first album in 1984. Laissez Briller Le Soleil
Belgium was represented by Reynaert, with the song "Laissez briller le soleil", at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Dublin on 30 April. Reynaert was the winner of the Belgian national final for the contest, held in Brussels on 27 February. Before Eurovision Eurosong '88 French-language broadcaster RTBF was in charge of the selection of the Belgian entry for the 1988 Contest. The national final was held at the RTBF studios, hosted by Patrick Duhamel. The winner was chosen by an expert jury and a public jury. The full results of the voting were not made public, and only the winning song was announced. At Eurovision On the night of the final Reynaert performed 16th in the running order, following Norway and preceding Luxembourg. Ingeborg (singer)
Ingeborg (born Ingeborg Thérèse Marguerite Sergeant, 15 October 1966, Menen) is a Belgian singer and television presenter, best known outside Belgium for her participation in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Ingeborg studied at the Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp, a training school for young singers and stage performers. One of her fellow students was the Dutch singer Stef Bos, with whom she formed a professional and personal relationship. With other colleagues, they formed a group called Zwiep en Brons and won the jury prize in the 1988 ''Leids Cabaret Festival'' in the Dutch city of Leiden. The Eurovision Song Contest 1988 was the 33rd edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Dublin, Ireland, following Johnny Logan's win at the with the song " Hold Me Now". Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (RTÉ), the contest was held at the RDS Simmonscourt on 30 April 1988 and was hosted by Irish broadcaster Pat Kenny and the Miss Ireland 1980 Michelle Rocca, marking the first time since the contest that two presenters had hosted the contest. Twenty-one countries took part, after an initial plan of twenty-two, as ' song was disqualified for breaching the contest's rules by being published a few years earlier, in an attempt to represent the country at a prior edition of the contest. Liliane Saint-Pierre (born Liliane Louise Keuninckx, 18 December 1948) is a Belgian pop singer. Hailing from Flanders, she sings mostly in Dutch. She competed at Eurovision Song Contest 1987 with the song " Soldiers of Love". Biography Liliane Saint-Pierre was born in Molenstede, Flemish Brabant, as Liliane Keuninckx. She started her career in the 1960s when she was 13 years old. The biggest hit of her early success period was "We gotta stop" sung in Dutch. At that time she performed as Liliane. Her success didn't stay unnoticed. She became acquainted with Claude François, a French singer and producer, and asked him to promote her in France. He accepted the offer, but decided Liliane was too short for a stage name.
