Raymonde Allain (22 June 1912 – 27 July 2008) was a French model (people), model and actress. She was Miss France in 1928. Her participation in the 1928 International Pageant of Pulchritude, Miss Universe contest drew international media attention, and her controversial loss to American Ella Van Hueson prompted critical dispute over what counted as "real beauty". Aymond (foaled 1927 in Ontario) was a Canadian Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1930 King's Plate. Bred by Whitby, Ontario's James Heffering, he was out of the mare, Ablaze, and sired by Roselyon, a son of the 1911 Epsom Derby winner and British Horseracing Hall of Fame inductee, Sunstar. Aymond was first purchased by Frank O'Connor who subsequently sold him in a 1929 dispersal for $1,025 to Toronto businessman Ryland New who had won the 1927 King's Plate with Troutlet. Trained by Jack Hutton, Aymond's best result at age two was a third-place finish in the Coronation Futurity Stakes. At age three, he won the seventy-first running of the King's Plate, the most prestigious race in Canada. Raymonde Vital was a woman who lived in the Comté de Foix in the early fourteenth century, she was made notable when Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie wrote about her in his 1975 book Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie#Montaillou, ''Montaillou''. Working as a servant in the home of the Belots, one of the wealthier families of the village of Montaillou, she met Arnaud Vital, a shoemaking, cobbler who was boarding there. She married him and the two set up house together, but the marriage was unhappy as Arnaud ignored her in favour of a series of mistresses. After Arnaud died, Raymonde married Bernard Guilhou. Biography Originally from Berry, Raymonde Vincent was born near Châteauroux in a family of farmers. When her mother died, she held the house of her father, a métayer operating a farm belonging to a castle. Catechism aside, her instruction was neglected. At seventeen she left for Paris where she found a job in commerce. She met Albert Béguin (1901–1957), an academic who became a renowned essayist, critic and translator, whom she married in 1929. Comte Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Monfa (24 November 1864 – 9 September 1901) was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator whose immersion in the colourful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant, and provocative images of the sometimes decadent affairs of those times. Born into the aristocracy, Toulouse-Lautrec broke both his legs around the time of his adolescence and, due to the rare condition Pycnodysostosis, was very short as an adult due to his undersized legs. Raymonde Tillon
Raymonde Tillon (22 October 1915 – 17 July 2016) was a French politician. She was affiliated with the French Communist Party and was in the French Resistance during the Second World War. Born Raymonde Barbé on 22 October 1915 in Puteaux, she married the communist Charles Nédelec in 1935. An early member of the Resistance, Tillon was arrested in 1941 and sentenced to twenty years hard labor by a court in Toulon. She was imprisoned in Marseille, Toulon and Lyon before being captured by the Germans in June 1944 and deported first to Saarbrücken, and then to the Ravensbrück concentration camp.
