Rødvig is a town and fishing harbour, with a population of 1,844 (1 January 2025),BY3: Population 1. January by rural and urban areas, area and population density The Mobile Statbank from Statistics Denmark in Stevns Municipality, Region Zealand in Denmark. The town is situated on the south east coast of Zealand just south of Stevns Klint. The harbour Rødvig Harbour is a combined marina and fishing harbour. It is the second largest active fishing harbour on Zealand. ''Rødvig Flint oven'' stands at the harbour, as a landmark for Rødvig. It is a 3.5 meter tall square building, with a 5 meter high chimney brick on top. Rødvig Ship Motor Museum
Rødvig Ship Motor Museum (Danish: ''Rødvig Skibsmotormuseum'') is located in Rødvig on Zealand, Denmark. It is one of several technical museums in Denmark. The museum was started in 1987. As of 2013 the museum has a collection of approximately 400 different engines, produced mostly by now defunct Danish factories over the period 1898 to 1974. The engines range in size from small outboards up to one German MTU medium-sized diesel of 2 000 hp. History At one time or another there were about 140 different producers of marine engines in Denmark. In 2013, only five of those 140 companies are still active: Hundested Propeller, Burmeister & Wain, Grenaa Motor Fabrik, Callesen Diesel (merged with Bukh), & Bukh Diesel (merged with Callesen). Engines from over half of the former 140 Danish producers can be found at the museum. Some of these are in working order and can be run within the museum. Østbanen (Denmark)
The East Line () is a local railway line in the eastern part of Zealand, Denmark. The railway started operations on 1 July 1879. It is today part of Lokaltog, a railway company operating nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster. Since December 2020, trains have run every 30 minutes between Roskilde station, Roskilde and Faxe Ladeplads via Køge station, Køge and Hårlev. There are also connecting services from Hårlev to Rødvig with a 3-5 minute connection time. The journey time from Roskilde to Faxe Ladeplads is 68 minutes. Stevns Municipality
Stevns Municipality () is a '' kommune'' in the Region Sjælland on the southeast coast of the island of Zealand in south Denmark. The municipality covers an area of , and has a population of 23,612 (1 January 2025). The municipality covers most of Stevns Peninsula. The third largest town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Hårlev. Stevns Klint
Stevns Klint, known as the Cliffs of Stevns in English, is a white chalk cliff located some southeast of Store Heddinge on the Danish island of Zealand. Stretching along the coast, it is of geological importance as one of the best exposed Cretaceous-Tertiary (K/T) boundaries in the world. Subject to frequent erosion, the cliff rises to a height of up to . Because of its exceptional fossil record, Stevns Klint was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014. Geology The cliff reveals sections from the uppermost part of the Maastrichtian stage (72 to 66 million years ago), known as the Tor Formation and from the lowermost part of the Danian stage (66 to 62 million years ago); the Danian-aged rocks are known as the Rødvig Formation and the Stevns Klint Formation.
