Río Grande De Manatí
The Manatí River (Spanish: Río Grande de Manatí) is a river in Puerto Rico, which flows through several northern municipalities of the island. The river is named after the municipality of Manatí where the river mouth is located. Description The river travels in sequence through Barranquitas, the municipal boundaries of Orocovis, Corozal and Naranjito, Ciales, Morovis, Barceloneta and Manatí in Puerto Rico. The river flows into the Atlantic Ocean in the municipal boundary between Barceloneta and Manatí. Manatí Bridge At Mata De Plátano
Manatí Bridge at Mata de Plátano, also known as Puente Juan José Jiménez and listed as Bridge #321 in Puerto Rico's bridge inventory, was built in 1905 in Hato Viejo, Ciales, Puerto Rico. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 and on the Puerto Rico Register of Historic Sites and Zones in 2001. It was the first truss bridge built in Puerto Rico under the administration of the United States (1898–1900) after the Spanish–American War. The bridge spans above the Río Grande de Manatí. For Puerto Rico, the span is high, above the river, "above a spectacular curving canyon of vertical walls traversed by the Manati River". Río Grande is a Barrios of Puerto Rico, barrio in the municipality of Morovis, Puerto Rico. Río Grande has six sectors and its population in 2010 was 594. History Río Grande was in Spain's gazetteers until Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an Insular area, unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the population of Río Grande barrio was 841. Río Grande was flooded when Hurricane Maria struck on September 20, 2017. Puerto Rico Highway 802 (PR-802) is an east–west road between the municipalities of Corozal and Naranjito in Puerto Rico. With a length of , it begins at its intersection with PR-801 in Palmarito barrio in Corozal, and ends at its junction with PR-152 and PR-803 in Cedro Arriba barrio in Naranjito. Route description Puerto Rico Highway 802 is a rural road with one lane in each direction along its entire length. In Corozal, PR-802 extends from PR-801 in Palmarito to the Naranjito municipal limit, crossing Maná and Palos Blancos barrios. Manatees (, family (biology), family Trichechidae, genus ''Trichechus'') are large, fully aquatic, mostly herbivory, herbivorous marine mammals sometimes known as sea cows.
