Révolution (comic)
Révolution is a series of comic books by Florent Grouazel and Younn Locard dealing with the events of the French Revolution. The two authors are both writers and artists for the series. The series is planned to have 1000 pages. Publication history The first volume, titled ''Liberté '' (Liberty) was published in January 2019, and won the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album this year. The series was initially planned as three volumes, but the second volume has been split in two, the first volume, published in January 2023, titled ''Égalité - Livre 1'' (Egality - Volume 1). Actes Sud
Actes Sud is a French publishing house based in Arles. It was founded in 1978 by author Hubert Nyssen. By 2013, the company, then headed by Nyssen's daughter, Françoise Nyssen, had an annual turnover of 60 million euros and 60 staff members. History ACTeS was situated in Paradou, a village in the Vallée des Baux. Here, founder Hubert Nyssen, his wife Christine Le Bœuf, (which was the granddaughter of Belgian banker and patron Henry Le Bœuf), his sister Françoise Nyssen, Bertrand Py and Jean-Paul Capitani met and founded Actes Sud. In 1983 Actes Sud moved to Arles. The publishing house was incorporated on 2 May 1987. The ''Actes Sud'' was a publication of the "Atelier de cartographie thématique et statistique" (ACTeS). Comic Book
A comic book, comic-magazine, or simply comic is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panel (comics), panels that represent individual scenes. Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize For Best Album
The Prize for Best Album (''Prix du meilleur album''), also known as the ''Fauve d'Or'' ("Golden Wildcat"), is awarded to comics authors at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. As is the customary practice in Wikipedia for listing awards such as Oscar results, the winner of the award for that year is listed first, the others listed below are the nominees. At the first two festivals (1974 and 1975), prizes were given only to creators, not books. From 1976 to 1978, the "best work" award was presented in four categories, foreign and French realistic and comical work. In 1981, the award was revived as simply "best album."
