Rádió Rock 95.8 was a Hungary, Hungarian rock music Radio broadcasting, radio station. It was the only radio station in Hungary which broadcast rock music exclusively. History On 17 May 2016, the Rádió Rock began broadcasting. The radio station aimed to gain 2,5 million listeners therefore it is available online as well. On February 1, 2019, the broadcast was terminated and Slager FM took the frequency. Rádió Rock's main principle is to give possibility to the Hungarian rock, Hungarian alternative, Hungarian indie, indie and Hungarian metal, metal music scenes. Hungarian metal bands like The Idoru, Ektomorf, FreshFabrik could debut in a Hungarian radio station for the first time. The radio station also airs songs by Hungarian alternative bands such as Heaven Street Seven, The Trousers (band), The Trousers and Ivan and The Parazol, C.A.F.B., Warpigs (band), Warpigs which were excluded from other Hungarian radio stations. Warpigs was a Hungarian rock band formed in 1993 . History After several member changes, the classic lineup from 1997 consisted of the two Eszenyi brothers, György Újhelyi and Bálint Gátos. They split in 1999 with singer Péter Eszenyi leaving the band. Several singers were drafted to replace him, including Marci Lombos and Chris Alexander, but none of them stayed for long. In 2006 they started playing together again with Eszenyi as singer. Bassist Bálint Gátos has been replaced with Péter Szabó (Igor, HAW) at concerts during the 2010s. They haven't been active in the 2020s. The Trousers are a Hungarian indie-garage rock band based in Budapest, Hungary. Their second LP Soul Machine was nominated as "The best hard rock/HM album of the year" in Hungary. They are most noted internationally for their songs used in Hawaii Five-O in the United States. History The band were formed by Zoltán Kőváry, who previously gained popularity as the guitarist of the Hungarian indie band Amber Smith, in Budapest, Hungary. Ektomorf
Ektomorf is a Hungarian heavy metal band. History Ektomorf was founded in 1993 in Mezőkovácsháza, Hungary, a small city near the Romanian border, by Zoltán "Zoli/Zotya" Farkas. In the actual lineup, Zoli/Zotya (songwriter and leader of the band) is the only remaining founder member. The band is completed by Ábris Hagya (lead guitar), Csaba Zahorán (bass) and Ákos Kobela (drums). Due to his Romani background, Farkas saw himself confronted with racism and prejudices, which is why the band had to put years of work into its international career. Their breakthrough came when Ektomorf started collaboration with Danish producer Tue Madsen in 2003. From 2002 to 2022, Ektomorf released sixteen studio albums and one live album. The Idoru
The Idoru is a post-hardcore band from Budapest, Hungary. It was formed in 2003 by ex-members of the Hungarian hard-core and metalcore band Newborn. The original line-up consisted of Tibor Szalkai (guitars), Gábor Nagy (guitars), Mátyás Mohácsi (bass), Denis Valach (drums) and András Bödecs (vocals). However, three of the original members (Bödecs, Szabó and Mohácsi) left the band in 2009.
