Ryan Richards
Ryan Earl Richards (born 24 April 1991) is a British-Jamaican basketball player who plays for the Aomori Wat's of the B.League. He began playing in England and has played for short spells for numerous teams in several countries. He was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 49th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, but never played a regular season game for the team. Junior career In 2005–06, Richards played for the Medway Park Crusaders, making regular appearances with the senior team aged only 14, in the English Basketball League's third division. He averaged four points and four rebounds per game and helped the Crusaders finish runner-up in the 2006 National Shield. He also competed for England at the 2006 U16 European Championship (Division B) as an U15 player. Furthermore, he finished second on the team in scoring (9.7 ppg) and third in rebounding (5.6 rpg). The 2021 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 1, was the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established as a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA, the BAL is the highest tier continental league of Africa, replacing the FIBA Africa Basketball League.
