Ryan Pepiot
Ryan Michael Pepiot ( ; born August 21, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022. Early life and amateur career Pepiot was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and grew up in Westfield, Indiana, where he attended Westfield High School and played baseball, basketball, and football. In football, he was named Class 5-A All-State at quarterback as a senior. Pepiot attended Butler University and played college baseball for the Butler Bulldogs for three seasons. After his sophomore year in 2018, Pepiot played collegiate summer baseball for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. As a junior, he went 4–4 with a 3.92 ERA in 14 starts while striking out a school record 126 batters over 78 innings. Pepiot finished the season as Butler's career leader in strikeouts with 306. The Hyannis Harbor Hawks, formerly the Hyannis Mets, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division. The Harbor Hawks play their home games at Judy Walden Scarafile Field at McKeon Park. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. Triple-A teams are generally located in smaller cities as well as larger metropolitan areas without MLB teams, such as Austin, Jacksonville, Columbus, and Indianapolis. The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues.
