Rutilio del Riego Jáñez (born September 21, 1940) is a Spanish people, Spanish-born American prelate of the Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church. Del Riego Jáñez served as an auxiliary bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, Diocese of San Bernardino in California from 2005 to 2015. Biography Early life Born in Valdesandinas, Spain on September 21, 1940, del Riego Jáñez joined La Hermandad de Sacerdotes Operarios Diocesanos del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús in 1961. He studied theology at the Pontifical University of Salamanca in Spain, then went to Washington, D.C. to attend Catholic University of America. Saint Vincent College is a private Catholic, Benedictines, Benedictine college in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1846 by Boniface Wimmer, a monk from Bavaria, it is operated by the Benedictine Monks of Saint Vincent Archabbey, the first Benedictine monastery in the United States, which was also founded by Wimmer.
