Charles Lopez (February 29, 1968 – March 9, 2004), better known by his stage name Rust Epique, was an American guitarist and painter, who performed with the bands Crazy Town and pre)Thing. Biography In 1999, Rust Epique joined Crazy Town, a rap metal band from Los Angeles. Crazy Town
Crazy Town (sometimes abbreviated as CXT) is an American rap rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1995 by Bret Mazur and Seth Binzer. Crazy Town is best known for their 2000 hit single " Butterfly", which reached number one on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and helped their debut album, '' The Gift of Game'' (1999), sell over 1.6 million units. Their follow-up album, '' Darkhorse'' (2002), failed to achieve the same level of success, contributing to the band's breakup in 2003. Stockton, California
Stockton is a city in and the county seat of San Joaquin County in the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California. Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular". Signed to V2 Records, the group released one demo and one major-label record, which came out after the lead singer's death in 2004. History Rust Epique, former guitarist for Crazy Town, left the group in 2001. After cutting some demos Rust signed with V2 Records in 2002. He then reassembled and re-formed an ensemble called Rustandthesuperheroes. Soon after, they began playing clubs in the Los Angeles area. Due to a trademark conflict with Hanna-Barbara, the band couldn't use a moniker with the phrase "Superheroes" in it, so they used a name that Rust had created years earlier in Modesto. "pre)Thing".
