Ruslan Provodnikov
Ruslan Mikhailovich Provodnikov (; born 20 January 1984) is a former Russian professional boxer and politician. In boxing he competed from 2006 to 2016, and held the WBO junior welterweight title from 2013 to 2014. He challenged once for the WBO welterweight title in 2013 against Timothy Bradley, in a fight that was named Fight of the Year by ''The Ring'' magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America. During the prime of his career, Provodnikov was known as a highly aggressive pressure fighter possessing formidable punching power, stamina and an exceptionally durable chin. His opponents Chris Algieri and Hall of Fame champion Timothy Bradley both stated that Provodnikov was the strongest fighter they ever faced, with a harder punch than even Manny Pacquiao. Light welterweight, also known as junior welterweight or super lightweight, is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Professional boxing In professional boxing, light welterweight is contested between the lightweight and welterweight divisions, in which boxers weigh above 61.2kg or 135 pounds and up to 63.5 kg or 140 Ibs. Mike Alvarado (born July 28, 1980) is an American professional boxer who held the WBO light welterweight title in 2013. Early life Alvarado was born in Denver, Colorado.
