Ruraldale is an unincorporated community in Muskingum County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. History Ruraldale was originally called Rockville, but the name was changed to Ruraldale when the town site was platted in 1854. A post office called Rural Dale was established in 1852, the name was changed to Ruraldale in 1895, and the post office closed in 1902. Muskingum County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 86,410. Its county seat is Zanesville. Nearly bisected by the Muskingum River, the county name is based on a Delaware American Indian word translated as "town by the river" or "elk's eye". Henry Francis "Farmer" Vaughn (March 1, 1864 – February 21, 1914) was an American professional baseball catcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Red Stockings, Louisville Colonels, New York Giants, Cincinnati Kelly's Killers, Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds.
