Rui Coentrão
Rui Abel Maia Coentrão (born 25 July 1992) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a left-back or a left winger. Club career Born in Vila do Conde, Coentrão spent most of his youth career with nearby Varzim SC, while also having four years in Sporting CP's academy. He made his senior debut with the former in the third tier in the 2011–12 season, won by his team. On 29 June 2013, Coentrão was loaned to Segunda Liga club Leixões S.C. for the upcoming campaign. He made 40 total appearances for the side from Matosinhos, and scored the only goal of an away win against Atlético Clube de Portugal on 27 October. Upon returning to Varzim, Coentrão was a first-team regular, winning promotion to the second division in 2014–15 and playing several years at that level. Vila do Conde (, ; "the Count's Town") is a municipality in the Norte Region, Portugal, Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 79,533, in an area of 149.03 km2. Matosinhos () is a City#Portugal, city and a Concelho, municipality in the district of Porto District, Porto in Portugal. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. In sports, an ejection (also known as dismissal, sending-off, disqualification, or early shower) is the removal of a participant from a contest due to a violation of the sport's rules. The Taça da Liga (), known outside Portugal as Portuguese League Cup, is an annual club football competition organised by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP) for teams competing in the top two tiers of Portuguese football – the Primeira Liga and Liga Portugal 2. 2016–17 Taça Da Liga
The 2016–17 Taça da Liga was the tenth edition of the Taça da Liga, a football cup competition organized by the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (LPFP) and contested exclusively by clubs competing in the top two professional tiers of Portuguese football. The competition was sponsored by CTT and, therefore, was known as Taça CTT for a second season. A total of 35 teams contested the tournament, including 18 teams from the 2016–17 Primeira Liga and 17 non-reserve teams from the 2016–17 LigaPro.
