Rufus Deal
Rufus Copeland Deal (December 7, 1917 – March 14, 2005) was an American professional football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the former Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders). He played college football at Auburn University and was selected in the third round of the 1942 NFL draft. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The 1942 NFL draft was held on December 22, 1941, at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Two members of the draft class have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Bill Dudley, the first overall selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Mac Speedie, 135th overall selection by the Detroit Lions. Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington metropolitan area.
