Rudolf Petersen (Kapitän Zur See)
Rudolf Hieronymus Petersen (30 December 1878 in Hamburg – 10 September 1962 in Wentorf bei Hamburg) was a German businessman, politician (Christian Democratic Union (Germany), CDU) and List of mayors of Hamburg, First Mayor of Hamburg (1945–46). Petersen's brother Carl Wilhelm Petersen was head of Hamburg's government (first mayor) between 1924 and 1929 and again from 1932 to 1933. Their grandfather Carl Friedrich Petersen had officiated as first mayor several terms, last until his death in 1892. In 1911, Rudolf Petersen founded the business ''Rudolf Petersen und Co.'' — after several mergers today ''MPC Capital AG''. In May 1945 after the World War II, Brigadier General — Military Governor of Hamburg — appointed Petersen mayor of Hamburg. Petersen joined the Christian Democratic Union (Germany), CDU. Carl Friedrich Petersen (6 July 1809 in Hamburg – 14 November 1892 in Hamburg) was a Hamburg lawyer and politician, who served several terms as First Mayor of Hamburg. He was a Hamburg senator from 1855 until his death. Education and early career He studied law at the University of Göttingen and at Heidelberg University, and earned a doctorate in 1830. After a stay in Paris, he became a burgher of Hamburg in 1831 and practised as a lawyer. The Hamburg Parliament (; literally “Hamburgish Citizenry” or, more poetically, “Hamburgish Burgess (title), Burgessry”) is the Unicameralism, unicameral legislature of the German state of Hamburg according to the constitution of Hamburg. Carl Wilhelm Petersen
Carl Wilhelm Petersen (1 January 1868 – 6 November 1933) was a German lawyer, politician for the German Democratic Party (German abbr.: DDP) and List of mayors of Hamburg, First Mayor of Hamburg (1924 – 29 and 1932 – 33). Petersen, who in 1912 ranked among the 200 richest Hamburgers, was elected a member of the Hamburg Parliament in 1899.
