Ruben And The Jets
Ruben and the Jets was an American rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. The band originated as an alias for The Mothers of Invention, Frank Zappa's band, to release ''Cruising with Ruben & the Jets'' (1968). Later, musician Rubén Guevara Jr. continued the band with his own lineup. Guevara's "Jets" recorded two albums, '' For Real!'' (1973) and '' Con Safos'' (1974). History Genesis (1967-68) During a recording session, engineer Richard Kunc and the Mothers of Invention discussed their high school days and love for doo-wop songs. Ray Collins and some of the other members of the band started singing and performing the songs, and Frank Zappa suggested that they record an album of doo-wop music. Collins later left the Mothers of Invention, and Zappa began working on a project entitled ''No Commercial Potential'', which included songs inspired by 1950s vocal groups, which were later reconstituted into a concept album called ''Cruising with Ruben & the Jets'' (1968). Infection (2019 Film)
''Infection'' () is a 2019 horror thriller film written and directed by Flavio Pedota. It tells the story of a zombie apocalypse and contains elements of social satire. It is Venezuela's first zombie film. The film has received several awards and nominations. It is seen by many to contain anti-Chavismo commentary, and has been banned in Venezuela. Synopsis As a new strain of rabies takes hold of Venezuelan capital Caracas, Dr. Adam Vargas and friend Johnny fight their way across the city to an international laboratory to create a cure, while also trying to find Adam's son who was staying in the countryside with his grandparents. They meet a doctor from Switzerland who has been sent to investigate the epidemic. It contains "post-epidemic interviews" during the end credits. Rubén Elías Guevara (born 27 January 1964 in Panama City, Panama) is a retired football midfielder. Club career Nicknamed ''Tátara'', Guevara started his career at Plaza Amador, but made his senior debut for Unión San Miguelito. He then played abroad for Salvadoran side Cojutepeque, alongside compatriots René Mendieta, José Alfredo Poyatos and Percival Piggott and had a lengthy spell with Tauro. He also played in Peru for León de Huánuco. He finished his career with San Francisco in 2001. International career Guevara made his debut for Panama in 1984 and has earned over 20 caps, scoring at least 2 goals. He represented his country in 11 FIFA World Cup qualification matches and played at the 1991 UNCAF Nations Cup.
