Royce Berry
Royce Elmer Berry (born April 19, 1946) is an American former defensive end in the American Football League (AFL) in 1969 and in the National Football League (NFL) from 1970 to 1976. Early life Berry grew up in Odessa, Texas, and played football at Permian High School. He was also on the 1964 basketball team, the first in program history to win the district championship, as well as the baseball team. Berry played college football for the University of Houston, Houston in 1965, 1966 and in 1968. He missed the 1967 season due to injury. NFL career He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round (161st overall) of the 1969 AFL/NFL Common Draft. In his sophomore season of 1970, he started all 14 games as a defensive end, most notably the first-ever Bengals-Cleveland Browns matchup in which Berry scooped up a fumble and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown. Ronald Nelson Carpenter (born on June 24, 1948) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle for seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). Stephen John Chomyszak (February 27, 1944 – January 25, 1988) was an American football defensive lineman in the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL). A defensive tackle, he played for the AFL's New York Jets (1966–1967) and Cincinnati Bengals (1968–1973) of the AFL and NFL. He attended Syracuse University and was drafted in the 12th round (103rd overall) of the 1966 AFL Draft by the New York Jets, playing in two games that season and spending most of the season on the taxi squad. The following season, he saw no action due to a serious ankle injury. He signed with the expansion Cincinnati Bengals for the 1968 season, playing in 10 games. Michael Barry Reid (born May 24, 1947) is an American country music artist, composer, and former professional football player. He played as a defensive tackle for five seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals in the National Football League (NFL). Born and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Reid attended and graduated from Pennsylvania State University, where he played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Selected by the Bengals in the first round of the 1970 NFL draft with the seventh overall pick, he earned trips to the Pro Bowl after the 1972 and 1973 seasons, before retiring after the 1974 season.
