Royal Brunei Navy
The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), natively known as (TLDB) is the naval force of Brunei. It is a small but relatively well-equipped military force whose main responsibility is to conduct search and rescue missions, and to deter and defend the Brunei waters against attack mounted by seaborne forces. The forerunner of the RBN was established on 14 June 1965, the second unit created after the formation of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The RBN is based and headquartered at Muara Naval Base, from Muara Town, with the majority of the enlisted sailors being Malays. Since 1977, the RBN has been equipped with missile gun boats and other coastal patrol craft. All the ships names are prefixed KDB, as in (Royal Brunei Ship in Malay). Jawi Script
Jawi (; ; ; ) is a writing system used for writing several languages of Southeast Asia, such as Acehnese, Banjarese, Betawi, Magindanao, Malay, Mëranaw, Minangkabau, Tausūg, Ternate and many other languages in Southeast Asia. Jawi is based on the Arabic script, consisting of all 31 original Arabic letters, six letters constructed to fit phonemes native to Malay, and one additional phoneme used in foreign loanwords, but not found in Classical Arabic, which are ''ca'' ( ), ''nga'' ( ), ''pa'' ( ), ''ga'' ( ), ''va'' ( ), and ''nya'' ( ). Jawi was developed during the advent of Islam in Maritime Southeast Asia, supplanting the earlier Brahmic scripts used during Hindu-Buddhist era. Royal Brunei Malay Regiment
The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); (ABDB), Jawi: , is the official organisation and collective term for all of the military forces or service branches of the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam. The RBAF consists of three primary military branches; the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF / TDDB), the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN / TLDB), and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF / TUDB). The supreme commander of the RBAF is held by the Sultan of Brunei, currently Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, holding the rank of field marshal. Pengiran Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, also referred to as Pg Norazmi, is a Bruneian Officer (armed forces), military officer and diplomat who is the current Brunei–United Kingdom relations, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the United Kingdom since 2020. Additionally, he formerly took office as the tenth commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) from 2015 to 2019. Mohamad Sarif Pudin
Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin (born 26 December 1972), or simply known as Md Saripudin, is a Bruneian naval officer who served as the acting commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) from 2023 to 2025. Military career On 26 June 1990, Mohamad Sarif Pudin enlisted in the Boys Company as a recruit, belonging to the 11th Intake. After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in July 1996, he spent the following year at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, United Kingdom, attending the Naval Young Officer Course. Enlisted Rank
An enlisted rank (also known as an enlisted grade or enlisted rate) is, in some armed services, any rank below that of a commissioned officer.
