Howard Rosenman
Howard Rosenman (born February 1, 1945), also known as Zvi Howard Rosenman, is an American producer and motion picture executive. He specializes in producing romantic comedy films and documentary films. Some of his most popular productions include '' Father of the Bride'' (1991) starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, Joss Whedon's ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1992) and ''The Family Man'' (2000) starring Nicolas Cage. Rosenman's documentary film '' Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt'' won the Peabody Award and the 1990 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature; his film '' The Celluloid Closet'' also won the Peabody Award. Joel Rosenman
Joel Rosenman (born 1942) conceived and co-created the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Rosenman thought of the idea for the three-day concert when he and business partner John Roberts were evaluating a proposal from Michael Lang and Artie Kornfeld for a recording studio in upstate New York. The four went on to create the event. Rosenman and Roberts are the co-authors of ''Making Woodstock'', originally published as ''Young Men with Unlimited Capital'', a non-fiction account of their exploits as producers of Woodstock. Childhood and education Born the second of three children, Rosenman grew up on Long Island in the town of Cold Spring Harbor, New York. He is Jewish. He attended Princeton University followed by Yale Law School, but sought a career as a professional musician. Leonard Rosenman (September 7, 1924 – March 4, 2008) was an American film, television and concert composer with credits in over 130 works, including '' East of Eden'', '' Rebel Without a Cause'', '' Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home'', '' Beneath the Planet of the Apes'', '' Battle for the Planet of the Apes'', '' Barry Lyndon'', '' Race with the Devil'', and the animated ''The Lord of the Rings.'' Life and career Rosenman was born in Brooklyn, New York, United States. His parents, Rose ( Kantor) and Julius Rosenman, were Jewish immigrants from Poland. He had a younger brother named Paul. Samuel Irving Rosenman
Samuel Irving Rosenman (February 13, 1896 – June 24, 1973) was an American lawyer, judge, Democratic Party activist, and presidential speechwriter. He coined the term "New Deal", and helped articulate liberal policies during the heyday of the New Deal coalition. He was the first person to hold the position of White House Counsel. Personal life and political career Rosenman was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Solomon and Ethel (Paler) Rosenman, both Jews. He served in the US Army during World War I and graduated from Columbia Law School in 1919. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Delta Sigma Rho. He became active in Democratic politics and was a member of the New York State Assembly (New York Co., 11th D.) in 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925 and 1926; and a justice of the New York Supreme Court (1st D.) from 1936 to 1943.
