Rondeslottet
Rondslottet is the highest mountain in the Rondane mountain range in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain sits on the border between Dovre Municipality and Folldal Municipality, just north of the border with Sel Municipality. There is a trail leading to the summit. Name The first part of the name comes from the word which was probably the original name of the nearby lake Rondvatnet. Many of the mountains near the lake were then named after this lake. The Old Norse form of the name was which means 'stripe' or 'edge' (referring to the long and narrow form of the lake). The last element of the name is the finite form of the Norwegian word which means 'palace'. Rondane
Rondane National Park () is the oldest national park in Norway, established on 21 December 1962. The park is located in Innlandet county, in the municipalities of Dovre Municipality, Dovre, Folldal Municipality, Folldal, Sel Municipality, Sel, Nord-Fron Municipality, Nord-Fron, Sør-Fron Municipality, Sør-Fron, Stor-Elvdal Municipality, Stor-Elvdal, and Ringebu Municipality, Ringebu. The park contains ten peaks above , with the highest being Rondeslottet at an altitude of . The park is an important habitat for herds of wild reindeer. Veslesmeden is a mountain in Dovre Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Rondane mountains and inside the Rondane National Park, about northeast of the town of Otta and about southeast of the village of Dombås. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Digerronden and Høgronden to the northeast, Rondeslottet to the east, Storsmeden to the south, Sagtindan and Trolltinden to the west; Gråhøe and Vassberget to the northwest; and Stygghøin to the north. Innlandet is a Counties of Norway, county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (Jevnaker Municipality and Lunner Municipality were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken (Norwegian county), Viken on the same date). The new county has an area of , making it the largest county in Norway after the division of the old Troms og Finnmark county in 2024. Rondvatnet
Rondvatnet is a lake in Sel Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake is a long, narrow lake in Rondane National Park, about northeast of the town of Otta. The Norwegian Mountain Touring Association's tourist cabins at Rondvassbu are located at the southern end of this lake. Rondvatnet separates the eastern part of Rondane from the western part which is the site of Smiubelgen. During the summer season, there is boat service on the lake transporting hikers between the southern and northern end. The Jutulhogget canyon is located near the southern end of the lake.
