Ronald Jose Méndez Garcia (born October 26, 1982) is a volleyball player from Venezuela, who won the gold medal with the Venezuela men's national volleyball team, men's national team at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In the final Méndez' team defeated Cuba men's national volleyball team, Cuba 3–0 (25–23, 25–18, 25–20). He was born in Ciudad Bolívar, Bolívar (state), Bolívar, Venezuela. Ciudad Bolívar (; Spanish for "Bolivar City"), formerly known as Angostura and St. Thomas de Guyana, is the capital of Venezuela's southeastern Bolívar, Venezuela, Bolívar State. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
