Ron Pountney
Ronald Alan Pountney (born 19 March 1955) is an English former professional association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. A West Bromwich Albion F.C., West Bromwich Albion supporter, he was named after Ronnie Allen. His style of play was based on "hard work, graft and unselfishness". He was named as Southend United's Player of the Year three times. He was given a Free transfer (association football), free transfer by Manager (association football), manager Bobby Moore in 1985; however, a testimonial match against West Ham United F.C., West Ham United was cancelled after West Ham had a rearranged fixture clash with the event. Bilston
Bilston is a market town in the City of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands County, West Midlands, England. It is in the Black Country, south east of Wolverhampton city centre and close to the borders of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough, Sandwell and Walsall Metropolitan Borough, Walsall. The town was known for Vitreous enamel, enamelling from the mid-17th century, and is a former coal and iron mining district. Iron works dominated in Victorian era, Victorian times and the area became a centre for steel production. The town had a population of 34,639 at the 2021 Census.
