Ă“scar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez (15 August 1917 – 24 March 1980) was a prelate of the Catholic Church in El Salvador. He served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Salvador, Archdiocese of San Salvador, the Titular Bishop of Tambeae, as Roman Catholic Diocese of Santiago de MarĂa, Bishop of Santiago de MarĂa, and finally as the fourth Archbishop of San Salvador. John Romero
Alfonso John Romero (born October 28, 1967) is an American video game developer. He co-founded id Software and designed their early games, including ''Wolfenstein 3D'' (1992), ''Doom (1993 video game), Doom'' (1993), ''Doom II'' (1994), ''Hexen: Beyond Heretic, Hexen'' (1995) and ''Quake (video game), Quake'' (1996). His designs and development tools, along with programming techniques developed by the id programmer John Carmack, popularized the first-person shooter (FPS) genre. Romero is also credited with coining the multiplayer term "Deathmatch (video games), deathmatch". Following disputes with Carmack, Romero was fired from id in 1996. Gloria J. Romero (born July 10, 1955) is a former California state senator from 2001 until 2010 and was the Democratic majority leader of the California State Senate from 2005 until 2008.
