Roman Horák (ice Hockey, Born 1969)
Roman Horák (born 24 September 1969) is a Czech former professional ice hockey centre. Career Horák first played in the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League for HC České Budějovice and HK Dukla Trenčín and also played in the Czech Extraliga for České Budějovice, HC Sparta Praha and HC Havířov, following the separation of Czechoslovakia. Horák also played in Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga, playing one game EHC 80 Nürnberg during the 1994-95 season, followed by a second spell with Nürnberg (now known as the Ice Tigers) in 1997. He also spent a season in Finland's SM-liiga for Ässät. Horák was a member of the Czechoslovakia national team and the Czech Republic national team. He played for the Czech Republic at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. The Swedish Hockey League (SHL; ) is a professional ice hockey league in Sweden and the highest level of the ice hockey in Sweden, Swedish ice hockey system. Växjö Lakers
The Växjö Lakers Hockey Club (often referred to as the Växjö Lakers or VLH) are a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Växjö in Sweden. The club plays at the Vida Arena and plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL; formerly Elitserien), the top-level league of Swedish ice hockey, and made its debut there in 2011–12. Roman Horák (born May 21, 1991) is a Czech ice hockey player currently playing for HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He previously played nine games in the Czech Extraliga with HC České Budějovice before coming to North America to play two WHL seasons with the Chilliwack Bruins. He was selected by the New York Rangers in the fifth round, 127th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and joined the Calgary Flames organization via trade in 2011. In 2014, he was traded by the Flames for a brief stint with the Edmonton Oilers. Czech Republic At The 1994 Winter Olympics
The Czech Republic competed at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. It was the first Winter Games since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, and so the Czech Republic and Slovakia at the 1994 Winter Olympics, Slovakia competed as independent teams. Cross-country skier Pavel Benc was the flag-bearer of the country in the opening ceremony – he thus had a chance to lead the last Winter Olympic Czechoslovak team in Albertville and the first ever Czech team in Lillehammer. Although the three medals won by Czechoslovakia in Albertville in 1992 were all won by Czech athletes (the ice hockey team had also three Slovaks), the result of Lillehammer Olympics were less satisfying as fifth places of ice hockey and Nordic combined teams were the Czech Republic's best results.
