Rolf Ketil Bjørn
Rolf Ketil Bjørn (18 January 1938 – 24 November 2008) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Socialist Left Party (Norway), Socialist Left Party. Bjørn was born in Kåfjord Municipality as the son of director Rolf Bjørn (1906–2000) and housewife Mariane Malvik (1908–1993). He finished his secondary education in 1957, and eventually enrolled at the Norwegian School of Management. He worked in the private company ''Gustaf Aspelin'' from 1964 to 1962, and in the family business ''Ric Bjørn'' from 1964 to 1989. Despite his social background in the petite bourgeoisie, he became a member of left-wing political groups. For this, he earned the nickname "the red millionaire". From 1959 to 1964 he was a member of the secretariat of the Young Communist League of Norway, having chaired the local branch in Tromsø from 1952 to 1957. Socialist Left Party (Norway)
The Socialist Left Party (, SV; ) is a democratic socialist political party in Norway. Positioned on the left-wing of the political spectrum, it is opposed to European Union membership, European Union and the European Economic Area membership. SV supports a strong public sector, stronger social welfare programs, environmentalism, and Republicanism in Norway, republicanism. As of 2018, the party had 11,385 members; the number has steadily increased since a low point in 2015. The party leader is Kirsti Bergstø, who was elected on 18 March 2023. Troms (constituency)
Troms (; ; ; ) is a county in northern Norway. It borders Finnmark county to the northeast and Nordland county in the southwest. Norrbotten Län in Sweden is located to the south and further southeast is a shorter border with Lapland Province in Finland. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean). The county had a population of 169,610 in 2024. The entire county, which was established in 1866, is located north of the Arctic Circle. The Troms County Municipality is the governing body for the county, elected by the people of Troms, while the Troms county governor is a representative of the King and Government of Norway.
