Rodrigo Hernán Lloreda Caicedo
Rodrigo Hernán Lloreda Caicedo (2 September 1942 — 4 February 2000) was a Colombian lawyer and politician who was appointed to several senior positions under different presidents, with both domestic and foreign affairs responsibilities, beginning in 1968 as appointed governor of his department and briefly as ambassador to the United States. In his last post, Lloreda was the 17th Minister of National Defence, serving under President Andrés Pastrana Arango from 1998 to 1999. Francisco José Lloreda Mera (born 13 November 1965) is a Colombian lawyer, politician, writer, editor and newspaper director. He is serving as High Presidential Advisor for Coexistence and Citizen Security in the Administration of President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón. He previously served the government as Ambassador of Colombia to the Netherlands and as Minister of National Education of Colombia. He has been a writer, editor, and director of the newspaper ''El País,'' founded in 1949 by his paternal grandfather Álvaro Lloreda Caicedo and great-uncles. ''Semana'' (Spanish: ''Week'') is a weekly magazine in Colombia. History ''Semana'' was founded in 1946 by Alberto Lleras Camargo (who would become president of Colombia in 1958) and that folded in 1961. It was relaunched by journalist in 1983. Development Felipe López Caballero, the person who restarted the magazine, took two earlier Colombian magazines as models. One was Camargo's ''Semana''; the other was '' :es:Alternativa'', a left-wing weekly published by Enrique Santos and Gabriel García Márquez. Álvaro Lloreda Caicedo (15 October 1903 — 10 April 1985) was a Colombian industrialist, newspaper publisher, and politician. In 1949 Lloreda, along with his brothers Mario and Alfredo, founded the newspaper ''El País,'' which continues in print today. He was director of the newspaper for 25 years. A Conservative party politician, he was elected as Mayor of his hometown of Santiago de Cali.
