Rodolfo Gómez
Rodolfo Gómez Orozco (born 30 October 1950 in Delicias, Chihuahua) is a Mexican former long-distance runner who was one of the leading runners represented from Mexico in the 1970s and 1980s. He won the Tokyo Marathon (1981), the IAAF Citizen Golden Marathon in Athens (1982), the Rotterdam Marathon (1982), the Nike OTC Marathon (1982), the Pittsburgh Marathon (1987) and the Mexico City Marathon (1987). He gained prominence on American television in 1982 when he finished in second place, four seconds back in 2:09:33 while being the primary foil to Alberto Salazar's third victory in a row at the New York Marathon. He ran a personal best of 2:09:12 at the 1983 Tokyo Marathon, finishing third in that race. Gómez represented Mexico at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1976. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping and throwing. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, cross-country running, and racewalking. Andrés Espinosa
Andrés Espinoza Pérez (born 4 February 1963) is a Mexican former long-distance runner who specialized in marathon races. Espinosa finished ninth at the 1995 World Championships in 2:16:44 hours. He won the 1993 New York Marathon and achieved his personal best time of 2:07:19 hours at the 1994 Boston Marathon. He set the world master (+40) record for the marathon in Berlin Marathon 2003 (2:08:46), which lasted nearly a dozen years until it was broken by 2 seconds in 2015 by Evergreen Kenneth Mungara. Fukuoka Marathon
The is an IAAF Gold Label international men's marathon race held in Fukuoka, Japan. It was previously known as the Fukuoka International Open Marathon Championship between 1947 and 2021, when it was announced the race would be discontinued on its 75th edition. However, due to popular support, a successor race, inheriting the tradition and course of the original marathon, was established the next year.
