"Roc" is a song recorded by the French-born singer Nâdiya, which appears on her self-titled third album ''Nâdiya''. The single was released as the second single from the album on June 19 in Switzerland and France, 2006, two weeks after the release of the album. The single became her best-performing single in the French Singles Chart, staying in the top five for eleven weeks and eighteen weeks in the top thirty. It contains a sample taken from ''War'' composed by Survivor for the soundtrack of ''Rocky IV'' in 1985. Chart performance The single entered the French Top 100 Singles chart at number two (#2) in the chart edition of June 24. The Crazy Frog's "We Are the Champions" topped the chart then. In its following two weeks, the single remained at the number 2 position, unable to get the Crazy Frog from its number one position. Nâdiya
Nâdiya (born Nadia Zighem on 19 June 1973) is a French contemporary R&B, R&B singer. Early life Nâdiya was born in the city of Tours, France in Algerians, Algerian descent family. At school she displayed a talent for athletics, and gravitated towards the sport-studies section. In 1989, she won the title of Junior Champion of France's 800 metres. Career 2001–2005: Early commercial success The single "J'ai confiance en toi" (''I Trust You''), released in February 2001, became the first single that charted in the French Singles Chart, peaked at No. 38 in France and stayed in the chart for 13 weeks. The second single slated from the album did perform better than the first one. Also, a DVD with a runtime of 26 minutes was released with it containing interviews and a "Making-of, The Making of The Album" documentary. "Amies-ennemies" is a song recorded by the French R&B singer Nâdiya. It was released as the third single from her third studio album, ''Nâdiya'', on October 30, 2006. The song is harmonically based on the second theme of Frédéric Chopin's Waltz Op. 64, No. 2. It was a top five hit in France and Belgium (Wallonia). Music video The song appears to be re-recorded or remixed for the video, as the song starts with a slightly different rhythm and the video version begins with the chorus instead of the first verse like the album version. Survivor was an American Rock music, rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved commercial success in the 1980s with five top ten singles in the United States. The band is best known for their 1982 hit "Eye of the Tiger", the theme song for the film ''Rocky III'' which spent Hot 100 number-one hits of 1982 (United States), six weeks at number one in the US. Dave Bickler was the band's vocalist from 1978 to 1983, appearing on the band's first four albums. He left the band after a vocal injury and was replaced by Jimi Jamison in 1984. Crazy Frog (originally known as The Annoying Thing) is a Swedish CGI-animated character and Eurodance musician created in 2003 by actor and playwright Erik Wernquist.
