Robin (Tim Drake)
Timothy Jackson "Tim" Drake is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with the superhero Batman. Created by Marv Wolfman and Pat Broderick, he first appeared in ''Batman'' #436 (August 1989) as the third character to assume the role of Batman's crime-fighting partner and sidekick Robin. Following the events of '' Batman: Battle for the Cowl'' in 2009, Drake adopted the identity of Red Robin. In 2019, Tim returned to his original Robin persona and briefly used the mononym "Drake". As a young boy, Tim was in the audience the night Dick Grayson's parents were murdered and later managed to discover the identities of Batman and the original Robin through their exploits. After the death of the second Robin, Jason Todd, and witnessing Batman spiral into darkness, Tim attempted to convince Dick to resume the role of Robin, stating that "Batman needs a Robin". Brian Bolland
Brian Bolland (; born 26 March 1951)Salisbury, Mark, ''Artists on Comic Art'' (Titan Books, 2000) , p. 11 is a British comics artist. Best known in the United Kingdom as one of the Judge Dredd artists for British comics anthology ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD'', he spearheaded the 'British Invasion (comics), British Invasion' of the American comics industry, and in 1982 produced the artwork alongside author Mike W. Barr on ''Camelot 3000'', which was DC Comics' first 12-issue comicbook maxiseries created for the direct market. Bolland illustrated the critically acclaimed 1988 graphic novel ''Batman: The Killing Joke'', an origin story for Batman supervillain the Joker (character), Joker, with writer Alan Moore. He gradually shifted to working primarily as a cover artist, producing the majority of his work for DC Comics. The Batman supporting characters are fictional characters that appear in the American comic books published by DC Comics featuring the superhero Batman as the main protagonist. "Batman family" or "Bat-Family" is the informal term for Batman's closest allies, who are mainly masked vigilantes operating in Gotham City. Since the Bat-Family's introduction in 1939, Batman has accumulated a number of recognized supporting characters. The first Batman supporting character was Jim Gordon (character), Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon, Batman's ally in the Gotham City Police Department, who first appeared with Batman in ''Detective Comics'' #27 (May 1939).
