Roberto Pérez
Roberto Andres Pérez (born December 23, 1988) is a Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican professional baseball catcher who is a free agent. He played college baseball for Florida Gateway College. Pérez was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 33rd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut in 2014 with the Indians, and has also played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants. He has won two Gold Glove Awards and two Fielding Bible Awards, and was named the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award, Wilson Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. Early life Pérez was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 29th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft out of Eugenio Maria De Hostos High School in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. He did not sign and attended Florida Gateway College, for whom he played college baseball. '' Roberto de Jesús Guerra Pérez'' (Media Luna, Granma, Cuba, September 19, 1978) is a Cuban independent journalist and blogger. He completed studies only up to 9th grade, as the Cuban authorities sentenced him to a year and six months of forced labor at the age of 14 for criticizing the food rationing system. Early life Guerra Pérez, had a nomadic life with his five brothers and faced extreme poverty. His parents Engracio War (1926–2001) and Consuelo Perez (1956), were both very poor farmers in the eastern part of the country. From age 9, he needed to take several jobs to help his family. Roberto Iglesias Pérez
Roberto Iglesias Pérez (July 23, 1930 – August 1, 2006) was a Puerto Rican politician and former mayor of Carolina from 1976 to 1984. Iglesias served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Was elected as Mayor of Carolina at the 1976 general elections. He served in that position until 1984, when he was succeeded by José Aponte de la Torre. In 1991, Iglesias was accused of four charges of illegal appropriation of public funds from the city of Carolina. After a long trial, Iglesias declared himself guilty in 1995 and served one year on parole. As part of the sentence, he was forced to pay back $29,000 to the city. Iglesias' son, Roger, is also a politician who is currently serving as a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico. Died on August 1, 2006, in Carolina, Puerto Rico at age 76. Roberto Mena Pérez (born 6 March 1984) is a Spanish wheelchair basketball player. He represented Spain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics as a member of Spain men's national team. Personal Mena was born on 6 March 1984 in the Balearic Islands. In 2011 and 2012, he resided in the Canary Islands. When he was 14 years old, he was involved in an accident that resulted in his right leg being amputated. Wheelchair basketball Mena worked to create a wheelchair basketball program in the Canary Islands that encouraged greater social integration between people with and without disabilities in the area. As part of the program, children with and without disabilities regularly play wheelchair basketball together. Robert Alexander Pérez Jiménez (born June 4, 1969) is a Venezuelan former professional baseball outfielder who played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB) in parts of six seasons spanning 1994–2001. Roberto Pérez Valdez (born 25 October 1981) is a Paraguayan football manager and former player who played as a defender. Playing career Pérez played for Newell's Old Boys and Boca Juniors in Argentina, aside from playing for Paraguayan Primera División sides.
