Roberto Fernández Beyró
Roberto Fernandez Beyro (1909–1991) was an Argentine journalist, restaurateur, and food critic who wrote a regular column in ''La Nación'' critiquing the lack of gastronomic traditions in Argentina. He was a member of several gourmet food clubs and wrote a cookbook of simple, traditional recipes. Biography Roberto Antonio Fernandez Beyro Méndes Gonçalves was born on 27 October 1909 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Juan Antonio Fernandez Beyro and María Eugenia Méndes Gonçalves. Fernandez Beyro managed restaurants in Buenos Aires, including the Jockey Club and Plaza Hotel and then opened his own restaurant, ''Monty's'' on Calle Honduras in Buenos Aires, and a restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, which allowed him to become an expert in Brazilian gastronomy. Roberto Fernández Retamar
Roberto Fernández Retamar (9 June 1930 – 20 July 2019, Havana) was a Cuban poet, essayist, literary critic and President of the Casa de las Américas. In his role as President of the organization, Fernández also served on the Council of State of Cuba. An early close confidant of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, he was a central figure in Cuba from the 1959 Revolution until his death in 2019. Fernández also wrote over a dozen major collections of verse and founded the Casa de las Americas cultural magazine. Professor Joao Cesar Castro de Rocha, at the University of Manchester has described Retamar as "one of the most distinguished Latin American intellectuals of the twentieth century." In 1989, he was awarded the National Prize for Literature, Cuba's national literary award and most important award of its type. Roberto Fernandez Canuto (born 13 April 1973 in Gijon) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He belongs to a new generation of filmmakers from Spain with learning or working experiences internationally and with multicultural influences. ''Roberto F.
