Robert Słaboń
Robert Słaboń (born 15 September 1953) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 11 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Speedway career Słaboń reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in the 1979 Individual Speedway World Championship. He has twice won the bronze medal at the Polish Individual Speedway Championship. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for Eastbourne Eagles during the 1981 British League season but disappointed scoring a season average of only 2.89. The majority of his career was spent in his native Poland riding for Sparta Wrocław. Family His son Krzysztof Słaboń was also a speedway rider. Silesian Stadium
The Silesian Stadium (; Polish: ) is a sport stadium located on the premises of Silesian Park in Chorzów, Poland. The stadium has a fully covered capacity of 54,378, after refurbishment completed in October 2017. The stadium hosted many Poland national football team matches and for many decades was Poland's national stadium. After the National Stadium in Warsaw was completed, the Silesian Stadium lost that role. The stadium was not in operation between 2009 and 2017 due to its ongoing reconstruction. Silesian Stadium is a UEFA Category 4 stadium and hosts the annual Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, a Diamond League meeting. Eastbourne Eagles Riders
Eastbourne () is a town and seaside resort in East Sussex, on the south coast of England, east of Brighton and south of London. It is also a local government district with borough status. Eastbourne is immediately east of Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Great Britain and part of the larger Eastbourne Downland Estate. Andrzej Tkocz (born 28 September 1951) is a former international speedway rider from Poland. He earned 18 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Speedway career Tkocz toured the United Kingdom during Poland's 1973 tour when the Poles created significant interest over their fearless riding styles. Tkocz won a bronze medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1974 Speedway World Team Cup. He rode in the top tier of British Speedway from 1978 to 1979, riding for Poole Pirates. Marek Kazimierz Cieślak (born 28 June 1950) is a former speedway rider and current coach. He earned 29 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Cieślak rode two seasons in the British leagues after joining White City Rebels for the 1977 British League season. Cieślak won a second consecutive silver medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1977 Speedway World Team Cup. In 2007 he was a manager of Poland national team. Poland won Speedway World Cup and Team U-21 World Championship. Zenon Plech
Zenon Plech (1 January 1953 – 25 November 2020) was a Polish international motorcycle speedway rider. He finished third in the Speedway World Championship in 1973 and as the runner-up in 1979. He earned 76 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Plech won the Individual Speedway Polish Championship, Polish National Championship five times (1972, 1975, 1979, 1985 and 1986) and runner-up twice (1981 and 1983). He also was a member of the Poland speedway team, Poland team to take third place in the World Team Cup in 1972 and 1981. Piotr Pyszny (born 18 August 1953) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 20 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Pyszny came to prominence when he won the bronze medal in the Silver Helmet during the 1973 Polish speedway season. He spent his entire Polish career riding for Rybnik. He represented the Poland national speedway team during the final of the 1979 Speedway World Team Cup. He continued to participate in other World Cups and went on to ride for Poland a total of 20 times.
