Robert Mistrík
Robert Mistrík (, born 13 August 1966) is a Slovak chemist, scientist, businessman, and politician. Early life Mistrík was born on 13 August 1966 in Banská Bystrica. He attended Gymnázium Jozefa Gregora Tajovského in Banská Bystrica. In 1991, he graduated with a degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Faculty of Chemical Technology of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. After completing a PhD at the University of Vienna in 1994, Mistrík continued his scientific career as a visiting scholar at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Early career In 1998, Mistrík founded the mass spectrometry, metabolomics and chemical analysis firm HighChem, which he still manages. Mistrík served as a member of the scientific steering committee in the METAcancer consortium, focused on the search for breast cancer biomarkers. Banská Bystrica (, also known by other #Etymology, alternative names) is a city in central Slovakia, located on the Hron River in a long and wide valley encircled by the mountain chains of the Low Tatras, the Greater Fatra, Veľká Fatra, and the Kremnica Mountains. Matej Tóth
Matej Tóth (; born 10 February 1983) is a retired Slovak race walker. He won the 50 km walk World Championship in 2015, and became an Olympic champion in the same event in 2016. Career Tóth won the gold medal in the 50 km walk at the 2010 IAAF World Race Walking Cup held in Chihuahua, Mexico, finishing with the slowest winning time since 1993. He finished first at the 2015 World Championships, taking Slovakia's first ever gold at the championships and completing the course two minutes ahead of his nearest rival. Tóth finished first at the 2016 Olympic Games in 50 km walk with a time of 3 hours, 40 minutes and 58 seconds, winning the first Slovak Olympic medal in athletics since the country's independence in 1993. Zuzana Čaputová (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist who served as the fifth president of Slovakia from 2019 to 2024. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45. Čaputová first became known by prevailing in a decade-long struggle against the situating of a toxic landfill in her hometown of Pezinok.
