Client (band)
Client (frequently stylised as CLIEͶT) are an English electronic music group from London, formed in 2002. They are most popular in Germany where they have had limited commercial success. They typically combine airline hostess uniforms or shiny fetish fashion outfits with glamour-girl aesthetics and harsh electronics to create a sound reminiscent of early forays into electronic sound manipulation and new wave. Their uniforms have become their trademark. History The original band members were formerly known only anonymously as Client A and Client B, to the extent that their faces were not shown on any publicity photos; it has since been revealed that they are Kate Holmes (as Client A) and Sarah Blackwood (Client B). Holmes, formerly of Frazier Chorus and Technique, later started the fashion label Client London, and is married to Alan McGee (founder of Creation Records and discoverer of Oasis). Blackwood is the lead singer of Dubstar. In late 2005 a new member, Client ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Locked Groove
The overwhelming majority of records manufactured have been of certain sizes (7, 10, or 12 inches), playback speeds (33, 45, or 78 RPM), and appearance (round black discs). However, since the commercial adoption of the gramophone record (called a phonograph record in the U.S., where both cylinder records and disc records were invented), a wide variety of records have also been produced that do not fall into these categories, and they have served a variety of purposes. Unusual sizes The most common diameter sizes for gramophone records are 12-inch, 10-inch, and 7-inch (, , and ). Early American shellac records were all 7-inch until 1901, when 10-inch records were introduced. 12-inch records joined them in 1903. By 1910, other sizes were retired and nearly all discs were either 10-inch or 12-inch, although both sizes were normally a bit smaller than their official diameter. In Europe, early 10-inch and 12-inch shellac records were produced in the first three decades of the ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Nur Noch Einer
Nur Noch Einer ("Down to One" or "Just One More") is the final studio album by Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, released on 26 November 2021 on Grönland Records. Gabi Delgado-López and Robert Görl had planned to do a DAF album in 2020. After Delgado died in March 2020, Görl assembled old material from the band's 1980s work and wrote new lyrics. Görl sang and recorded the album with production assistance from Sylvie Marks. Critical response was mixed, with multiple reviewers commenting on Delgado's absence. Görl played the album on tour in 2022. Critical response Gerd Roth for Deutsche Presse-Agentur considered the album "danceable" and noted how it covered four decades of DAF, back to their first days in Düsseldorf. ''Plattentests.de'' called the album "old school EBM" and listed "Kunststoff" and "Wir Sind Wild" as "irresistible, pure power tracks." ''Sounds & Books'' said the album had "a classic DAF sound. Brutal, repetitive synth riffs and straightforward drums a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
