Roar Grønvold
Roar Grønvold (born 19 March 1946) is a former speed skater from Norway. Grønvold had his best year in 1972 when he became Norwegian Allround Champion and won silver at the Norwegian Sprint Championships. In addition, he won silver at the 1972 Winter Olympics of Sapporo on both the 1,500 m and the 5,000 m, and he won silver at both the European Allround and the World Allround Championships. All four of those Olympic, World, and European silver medals were behind Ard Schenk. In 1973, Grønvold joined the short-lived professional league, winning bronze at the Professional World Allround Championships that year and silver at the Professional European Allround Championships. At both those championships, it was again Ard Schenk who won the gold medals. Hvittingfoss
Hvittingfoss is a village in the municipality of Kongsberg in Buskerud, Norway. Hvittingfoss has traditionally been associated with the manufacture of pulp, paper and paper products. History Prior to the municipal merger in 1964, Hvittingfoss was in Ytre Sandsvær. Hvittingfoss borders Lardal and Hof. Hvittingfoss is located about 30 kilometers from Kongsberg. The river Numedalslågen runs through the village. The village population (2005) is 1,016. Industrial development was driven by the waterfalls of Hvittingfoss as far back as the 17th century. In 1651, there were reportedly five sawmills in the northern waterfall, called Nord-fossen. The royal privileges of Vittingfossen was given to the counts in Jarlsberg and Larvik. Industrialist Christian August Anker (1840-1912) developed Hønefoss Træsliberi which started its production of wood pulp in 1881. Eisstadion Davos
zondacrypto Arena is an indoor arena in Davos, Switzerland. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of HC Davos. It holds 7,080 people, of which 3,280 are seated. Every year the Spengler Cup is played in this arena. Major renovation of the arena started at the conclusion of the 2017–18 season to upgrade most of the stands and the concourse. The seating capacity was not increased and the total cost was around CHF 27 million. Construction began in 2018 and was completed in 2021. Speed skating The open natural ice rink beside the arena, ''Eisstadion Davos'', was in the past (up until 1997) the venue for many international speed skating events and many speed skating world records have been broken here.
